Sky Trex, Bukit Cahaya Shah Alam on 19th September 2009

    IMG_7685 (Large)

It’s been nearly 9 months since I have last posted anything on the Windows Live spaces. Apparently, I managed to spare some time to write about this activity which I took last Saturday. Sky Trex also known as ‘Jungle Trekking in the Sky’ is one of the new exciting adventures offered in the Taman Pertanian, Bukit Cahaya where trill seekers can go and experience the rush of adrenaline as he/her tries to complete each challenges from one station to another. During the Raya break, my friends and I took the chance to try out the activities prepared. To our concern, the challenges seems to be scary as it is held above the ground level nearly 70 feet up in the air yet. Anyhow, with a little bit of courage, strength and self-confidence, we gather our belief in succeeding it.

Here are some of the facts about Sky Trex publish from their website.

    Sources: http://www.skytrex-adventure.com/index.php

SKYTREX Adventure provides an organized outdoor ‘eco-recreational cum educational’ activity which will take the participants from tree to tree via series of aerial obstacles suspended at 3 meters to 22 meters in the air. The first of its kind in Malaysia, SKYTREX Adventure is a place where you can enjoy jungle trekking from a height never reached before – via the canopy! Test your agility, challenge your fear, walk, crawl, glide and swing through our different challenges in the sky, in total safety while appreciating the wonders of the Malaysian Tropical Rain Forest.
SKYTREX Adventure was built by giving a particular attention to these 4 elements:
    RECREATIONAL, SAFETY, EDUCATIONAL, ENVIRONMENT.

The course begin in the afternoon at about 3pm with our instructor as shown in the picture demonstrates the basics and safety measures need to be taken to ensure our safety. He explained the importance of carabineers and pulleys when trying the challenges, making sure we know which are the long and short carabineers and also to remember to hook and unhook the carabineers 1 at a time. He also explained the type of scenarios one might happen if not careful, therefore safety is the first priority, not to play around when up in the trees.

    National Friendship Week

One day, when I was a freshman in high school,
I saw a kid from my class was walking home from school.

    His name was Kyle.

It looked like he was carrying all of his books.

I thought to myself, 'Why would anyone bring home all his books on a Friday? He must really be a nerd.'

I had quite a weekend planned (parties and a football game with my friends tomorrow afternoon), so I shrugged my shoulders and went on.
As I was walking, I saw a bunch of kids running toward him.

They ran at him, knocking all his books out of his arms and tripping him so he landed in the dirt.
His glasses went flying, and I saw them land in the grass about ten feet from him..

He looked up and I saw this terrible sadness in his eyes

My heart went out to him. So, I jogged over to him as he crawled around looking for his glasses, and I saw a tear in his eye.

As I handed him his glasses, I said, 'Those guys are jerks.' They really should get lives. ' He looked at me and said, 'Hey thanks!'

There was a big smile on his face.

It was one of those smiles that showed real gratitude.

I helped him pick up his books, and asked him where he lived.

As it turned out, he lived near me, so I asked him why I had never seen him before.

He said he had gone to private school before now.

I would have never hung out with a private school kid before.

We talked all the way home, and I carried some of his books.

He turned out to be a pretty cool kid.

I asked him if he wanted to play a little football with my friends

    He said yes.

We hung out all weekend and the more I got to know Kyle, the more I liked him, and my friends thought the same of him.

Monday morning came, and there was Kyle with the huge stack of books again.

I stopped him and said, 'Boy, you are gonna really build some serious muscles with this pile of books everyday! 'He just laughed and handed me half the books.

Over the next four years, Kyle and I became best friends..

When we were seniors we began to think about college.

Kyle decided on Georgetown and I was going to Duke.

I knew that we would always be friends, that the miles would never be a problem.

He was going to be a doctor and I was going for business on a football scholarship..

Kyle was valedictorian of our class.
I teased him all the time about being a nerd.

He had to prepare a speech for graduation.

I was so glad it wasn't me having to get up there and speak Graduation day.

I saw Kyle. He looked great.

He was one of those guys that really found himself during high school.

He filled out and actually looked good in glasses.

He had more dates than I had and all the girls loved him.

    Boy, sometimes I was jealous!

Today was one of those days.

I could see that he was nervous about his speech.

So, I smacked him on the back and said, 'Hey, big guy, you'll be great!'

He looked at me with one of those looks (the really grateful one) and smiled. ' Thanks,' he said.

As he started his speech, he cleared his throat, and began

'Graduation is a time to thank those who helped you make it through those tough years.

Your parents, your teachers, your siblings, maybe a coach...but mostly your friends...

I am here to tell all of you that being a friend to someone is the best gift you can give them.

I am going to tell you a story.'

I just looked at my friend with disbelief as he told the first day we met.

He had planned to kill himself over the weekend.

He talked of how he had cleaned out his locker so his Mom wouldn't have to do it later and was carrying his stuff home.

He looked hard at me and gave me a little smile.

    'Thankfully, I was saved.

My friend saved me from doing the unspeakable..'

I heard the gasp go through the crowd as this handsome, popular boy told us all about his weakest moment.

I saw his Mom and dad looking at me and smiling that same grateful smile.

Not until that moment did I realize it's depth.

Never underestimate the power of your actions..

With one small gesture you can change a person's life.

    For better or for worse.

God puts us all in each others lives to impact one another in some way.

    Look for God in others.

You now have two choices, you can :

    1) Pass this on to your friends or

    2) Delete it and act like it

    didn't touch your heart.

As you can see, I took choice number 1.

'Friends are angels who lift us to our feet when our wings have trouble remembering how to fly.'

There is no beginning or end..

    Yesterday is history.

    Tomorrow is a mystery.

    Today is a gift.

It's National Friendship Week. Show your friends how much you care. Send this to everyone you consider a FRIEND.

If it comes back to you, then you'll know you have a circle of friends.

Reasons for sleeping and waking up early

Early morning 3 - 5am: detoxification in the lungs. Therefore there will sometimes be a severe cough for cough sufferers during this time. Since the detoxification process had reached the respiratory tract, there is no need to take cough medicine so as not to interfere with toxin removal process.

                     TAKE CARE ABOUT YOUR HEALTH
    February 01

    How to stay young?

    1. Throw out nonessential numbers. This includes age, weight and height.
Let the doctors worry about them. That is why you pay them.

    2. Keep only cheerful friends.
The grouches pull you down. (keep  this In mind if you are one of those grouches;)

    3. Keep learning:
Learn more about the computer, crafts, gardening,
whatever. Never let the brain get idle.

"An idle mind is the devil's workshop."

And the devil's name is Alzheimer's!

    4. Enjoy the simple things.

    5. Laugh often, long and loud. Laugh until you gasp for breath.
And if you have a friend who makes you laugh, spend lots and  Lots of time with HIM/HER.

    6. The tears happen:

Endure, grieve, and move on. The only person who is with us our entire life, is ourself.  LIVE while you are alive.

    7. Surround yourself with what you love:

Whether it's family, pets, keepsakes, music, plants, hobbies, whatever.
    Your home is your refuge.

    8. Cherish your health:
If it is good, preserve it.

If it is unstable, improve it.
If it is beyond what you can improve, get help.

    9. Don't take guilt trips.
Take a trip to the mall, even to the next county,  to a foreign country, but NOT to where the guilt is.

    10. Tell the people you love that you love them, at every opportunity.

And if you don't send this to at least four people - who cares?
But do share this with someone.

    Gunung Datuk - 13th January 2008

Mountaineering a.k.a Mountain Climbing is the sport, hobby or profession of walking, hiking, trekking and climbing up mountains. It is also sometimes known as alpinism, particularly in Europe. While it began as an all-out attempt to reach the highest point of unclimbed mountains, it has branched into specializations addressing different aspects of mountains and may now be said to consist of three aspects: rock-craft, snow-craft and skiing, depending on whether the route chosen is over rock, snow or ice. All require great athletic and technical ability, and experience is also a very important part of the matter.

    World AIDS Day 2007

    AIDS

World AIDS Day, observed December 1 each year, is dedicated to raising awareness of the AIDS pandemic caused by the spread of HIV infection. AIDS has killed more than 25 million people, with an estimated 38.6 million people living with HIV, making it one of the most destructive epidemics in recorded history. Despite recent, improved access to antiretroviral treatment and care in many regions of the world, the AIDS epidemic claimed an estimated 3.1 million (between 2.8 and 3.6 million) lives in 2005, of which more than half a million (570,000) were children.
The concept of a World AIDS Day originated at the 1988 World Summit of Ministers of Health on Programmes for AIDS Prevention. Since then, it has been taken up by governments, international organizations and charities around the world.
From its inception until 2004, UNAIDS spearheaded the World AIDS Day campaign, choosing annual themes in consultation with other global health organizations. In 2005 this responsibility was turned over to World AIDS Campaign (WAC), who chose Stop AIDS: Keep the Promise as the main theme for World AIDS Day observances through 2010, with more specific sub-taglines chosen annually. This theme is not specific to World AIDS Day, but is used year-round in WAC's efforts to highlight HIV/AIDS awareness within the context of other major global events including the G8 Summit. World AIDS Campaign also conducts “in-country” campaigns throughout the world, like the Student Stop AIDS Campaign, an infection-awareness campaign targeting young people throughout the UK.

Born In The Year's of 80s

If you are Msia's 80s baby, read through  this, we grew up watching
Transformers, Thundercats, Woody Woodpecker, Chipmunks, Mickey Mouse, Jem, Mask, Ninja Turtles, Voltron, Baja Hitam, Ultraman n not forgettin POWER RANGERS n BUGS BUNNY!!!and anderra yippa mice? Smile McGyver ?

Had to brush our teeths during recess at primary school? had to hold plastic c ups, line up with your classmates sideby side and start brushing our teeths at some open area... or maybe near some drai n??

Do you still remember that we had 'dentist' rooms where we had to have our teeth s check?

Not to forget our 'program minum susu' in primary school.. everybody is suppose to buy like cartons of milk that costed 30 cents.. and you would see everyone drinking it everyday...its d UHT milk...

The teachers who would want to punish us must use yellow rulers to hit us on our palms?? 1 metre length..

That a bowl of mihun soup or some soup only costed 50 cents at the schoolcanteen...

Went to some sundry shop near the school or to the 'roti' man waiting outside our schools so that we can buy junk food like chickedees, mamee, ding dang with some toys in it, 'Ti Kam', ice-cream and we would play games like monopoly, uno, old maid, and all other card games like that...

Another fun time would be during Pendidikan Jasmani. the boys would play football while the girls would play netball... and it would be like we were playing in the world cup...But of course. the best would be main guli, batu seremban, bottlecaps, ice- cream sticks, 'Pepsi Cola one-two-thre e', Cops and Robbers, main kejar-kejar duduk,getah... and for the not so active, those kind of 'book games' where we would use buku latihan to draw and ask our friends to play...

Do you remember the ice-cream tubes which are actually ice and colouring that are sold for 10 to 20 cents.. the colourful ones.. where you usually bite off the top to glup it down.orange taste s b best..(pop-ice) & what about days when we felt like doing naughty things such as folding papers so small to make 'lastik' amd shoot each other... how about throwing chalks??

Back then, micheal jackson was just turning white.. and still had albums coming out.. compared to CD's, we were listening to tapes that sold for RM9.90...

In computer class, we were stillusing black and white computer moniters.. played 'Atari'... maybe SEGA or NINTENDO..

Well, are we all getting older or what?

1 ) If you understand what you have read and you are smiling...

    2) We have friends from school that are already married...

    3) We shake our heads everytime wesee high school students fussing about their handphones in school..

    4) We don't hang on phone with ourfriends for hours a day talking about nothing...

    5) When we meet back with our friends from time to time, we feel excited and happy talking about old times, the funny 'adventures' or stories that we experienced as a kid..

    6) Last but not least, that when youread this, you would think of all the happy & sad memories that you have experienced when you were still a kid and would think of forwarding this to your old friends that you have known since forever... i'm sure they would have a huge smile on their face after reading this.....

    Eric Clapton -Blue Eyes Blue

I thought that you'd be loving me.
I thought you were the one would stay forever.
But now forevers come and gone
    And Im still here alone.

    cause you were only playing,
You were only playing with my heart.
    I was never waiting,
I was never waiting for the tears to start.

It was you who put the clouds around me.
It was you who made the tears fall down.
It was you who broke my heart in pieces.
It was you, it was you who made my blue eyes blue.
Oh, I never should have trusted you.

I thought that I'd be all you need.
In your eyes I thought I saw my heaven.
And now my heavens gone away
And I'm out in the cold.

    cause you had me believing,
You had me believing in a lie.
    Guess I couldn't see it,
I guess I couldnt see it till I saw goodbye.

It was you who put the clouds around me.
It was you who made the tears fall down.
It was you who broke my heart in pieces.
It was you, it was you who made my blue eyes blue.
Oh, I never should have trusted you.

    cause you were only playing,
You were only playing with my heart.
    I was never waiting,
I was never waiting for the tears to start.

It was you who put the clouds around me.
    It was you.

It was you who put the clouds around me.
It was you who made the tears fall down.
Only you who broke my heart in pieces.
It was you, it was you who made my blue eyes blue.
Oh, I never should have trusted you.

Oh, I never should have trusted you.
Oh, I never should have trusted you.

    Happy Birthday AW!

Happy Birthday Arsène Wenger — 58 today.

As you might expect the Frenchman has little time for this annual frivolity.  He’ll spend his day in the normal fashion - watching football games and preparing for football games. In fact the only present he wants is a better performance against Slavia Prague on Tuesday than the one put in against Bolton at the weekend.

"It's a day like every other day,” said Wenger. “I already have many socks so I don't need them. I will watch Newcastle-Tottenham. Maybe I will have a glass of wine at home, but that is it. I was never a great celebrator of birthdays: I will have a quiet night and prepare for the next day's game.

So what gift could his players give him?

"To play better on Tuesday than they did against Bolton,” replied Wenger.

“I just want people to be happy and it's important to keep the spirit that we have at the moment. As a manager, there is nothing better to think that you have contributed to the happiness of people. I don't want them to stay as they are - I want them to improve - but I want them to keep that attitude.

Tribute to a Legend - Dennis Bergkamp

The Enchanting Android a.k.a The non-Flying Dutchman
My favorite player, one of the best player ever, would be none other than Dennis Bergkamp Smile I'm writing this down because I wanted to pay my tribute to him as much as I could remember and admires him for the contribution to the club - ARSENAL. After all, I really think he is the player who have the best techniques and he is the best striker who have ever lived. He do not only score many goals, but he did it with STYLE Hot and I hope he would have played football till today.

Great video of one of the most gifted strikers ever. This is how football ought to be played
(This Video has to be watch with audio, the music is fantastic. Enjoy~~)

Intelligence is his middle name and a true legend he is one of the best number "10" Wink player the world has ever known. As a gooner, I've loved Bergkamp from day I supported the club in 1996 in his days of Arsenal but when I foundout he's in the team, I was nearly weeping!! I've followed Bergkamp from the beginning together with Henry, he was and always will be the most all around gifted footballer I have ever seen in my life, there will be no one better.

Bergkamp had more vision than almost anyone to play the game. He saw what could be, not was. Sure there were others with more pure football skill - speed dribbling, shooting, but I don't think anyone exceeded his vision, and that touch.

We miss you Dennis!  Broken heart You are the best~!

Below are some of the testimonials and quotes written about him:-

"Intelligence and class. Class is of course, most of the time linked to what you can do with the ball, but the intelligence makes you use the technique in an efficient way. It's like somebody who has a big vocabulary but he doesn't say intelligent words, and somebody who has a big vocabulary but he can talk intelligently, and that's what Dennis is all about. What he does, there's always a head and always a brain. And his technique allows him to do what he sees, and what he decides to do."
    -Arsene Wenger-

"Dennis is the best player I have ever played with as a partner. It is a dream for a striker to have him in the team with you"
    - Thierry Henry-

"He's the messiah. We told him to get us into Europe when he joined and that's exactly what he did."
    -Ian Wright-

    Mud Trekker Paintball Action

Last weekend was great as the boys went for the paintball game at Kepong. Things was fun and exciting as everyone doesn't really knows how to play it well enough(Still Amateurs) but yet we still enjoyed much. Anyway, keep it up on doing activities together guys!Cheers~

Below are same information regarding Paintball:

    What is Paintball About
Paintball is a competitive game played like any other competitive game, to win. It is like a more challenging, high-stakes version of tag, hide-and-seek, or capture the flag. Because you shoot at other people (and get shot at!), paintball requires specific equipment (goggles, a gun/marker, pressurized gas, and paintballs). Beyond that, paintball is hard to describe. It can be played indoors or out, with as few as two people or as many as 500; a game can last 5 minutes or 24 hours; it’s objective might be to take something, bring something, find something, or to simply be the last person standing.

Depending on the game play you play, tactics will be vary as well -- from being quiet and sneaky and picking your shots carefully, to being loud, fast, and shooting constantly. A paintball game can be different every time, but there’s one thing that stays the same: it’s an adrenaline rush. Open-mouthed

    Preparation for Play
    • Wear long sleeve T-Shirt, long pants, track shoes and a cap. Wear the cap on top of the safety mask (which is provided).
    • Bring along sweat towel to wrap around your neck for extra protection.

    In Game

    • While in play, its best NOT to give away your location..
    • The best way to hit an opponent, is to sneak up to him, and hit him with the LEAST amount of paint possible......
    • If a opponent says something out loud, try to listen to him/her and this will help you guide your actions, by being one step ahead...
    • Try to keep anything, bright, shiney etc..under grass, or out of view, these types of objects will give away your location..
    • Even when shooting, try to keep your position a secret
    • If opponent shoots rapidly, and dosent allow you to rise to shoot, then he has done good, but to defeat him, try turning off your power feed, or stop paint from shooting from your gun, and shoot rapidly, this will scare your opponent, and he will duck, allowing you to have the advantage
    • MOVE MOVE MOVE!!, dont just sit and stay in one spot, you have to move to survive!!
    • Try to make it as hard as possible for you opponent to shoot at you, this will allow you to get at a distance where you can execute him
    • Dont let fear become of you, you MUST be, alert, ready, careful, quiet, smart, creative, and fearless
    • Fear is a killer, if you have fear, you will loose, fear causes you to, duck, allowing your opponent to take you, make you weak, lessen your alertness and readyness, and cripple you from winning!!!

Tips in getting started as a runner by phoenix@Frank
As I am not expert myself, I will try my best to help new runners around by giving them advice. And the following is based on my past and current experiences as a runner. I created this basic guide myself and if there are any suggestion or corrections to it, I welcome it. I sincerely hope, that this will be able to help new runners take their first step into their running "career". Happy Running!

Training – People often mistaken that runners only train by doing cardio like running and cycling. I disagree, as you need a strong body too. It's tough to built our body up like bodybuilders, but that doesn't mean that we can't build strength. I do work on my body like doing chest press, bicep curls, dead lift and so on. By building body strength, there is no worry of collapsing during a run. Leg workouts like squats, lunges, extensions, curls and presses helps a lot on the leg especially to strengthen the quadriceps, hamstring and glut. A word on advice here is most runners complain on knee problem but yet still do leg workouts. Please avoid this as more harm is done, long-term damage I mean.

Diet – Most runners are skinny. And people think that we can eat what we want cause our body can burn the fat away easily. I must say that I disagree with it. As for me, I watch my diet. I still avoid those unhealthy foods like oily stuff and others. You know what I mean. You need a healthy body to take you through the run. Runner's diets are mainly made up of carbohydrate. A day before a run, I will load myself up with it by mainly eating rice or pasta. Fish is a good food too. As for supplements, I take Omega 3,6 and 9 (multi-oil formula), glucosamine and protein shake. As for the GI (Glycemic Index) measurement, it is advisable to go for a low GI meal of course. A low GI meal allows your body to actually "control" the amount of glucose into your bloodstream, therefore "controlling" the amount of energy used avoiding a total system blackout. But for me, I don't really watch my GI. I wok out most of the days, unless I fall sick and I don't want to give myself a headache going to measure the GI on each meal I take.

Shoes – There are many types and brand of running shoe around. The 2 major players in our market are Nike and Adidas. However, people who knows shoes knows New Balance, Asics, Mizuno and Brooks make good running shoes as well, and if not even better! Basically, there are 3 types of running shoes around. Cushion, Control and Trail. I will not go into Trail here, as it is more to CrossCountry runs like the Genting TrailBlazer event. Firstly, Cushion shoes are made for those who has problems especially with their knee (cartilage). The heels of the shoes are made of soft compound materials so that it will act as a "suspension" upon landing. However, stability is sacrificed to make all this possible, but not much. Some famous technologies for cushioning are like Adidas's Formotion and Asic's Gel. As for Control, a wider sole is given to the shoe to make it more stable. But to achieve this, cushioning is reduced. Therefore, there are no perfect shoes around. It's up to you to choose. Choose wisely in terms of comfortness. And do not wear new shoes for a long distance run. Always give your foot at least month to adapt to the new shoes. Wear it around walking around the house or to the shopping mall to have it "seasoned".

Running pattern – Different runners has their own running patterns. Just stick to the one that you are comfortable with. However, there a few rules of the thumb that you shall follow to avoid injuries. ALWAYS keep the knee soft when running. NEVER lock them up when the foot touches the ground. By keeping soft means never straighten the knee. Instead bend it slightly. As for the body, lean forward a bit instead of leaning back. This is to avoid stress being put on the lower back and also the heels. If pain is felt, perform a light stretch to the area. Taking off the shoe is a good choice while stretching the leg. And always remember to inhale and exhale. Never hold your breath. Oxygen is energy! There is a breathing pattern for runners but I get to that the next time.

Race day – Wake up early at least 2 hours before the run starts. I wake up 3 hours before. Take a shower to freshen up. Empty your bowel. Take a light breakfast 2 hours before the start of the event. Banana is a good fruit for it's high potassium content. PowerBar Performance Bar can be taken an hour before the event though, but have to be taken with at least 12oz of water. Prepare PowerBar Gel for consumption during the run. I take one pack with water for every 10KM. Although recent research finds that caffeine does not dehydrate the body, I still take the non-caffeine flavored ones. ALWAYS perform a warm-up and stretch before the start of the run. Most runs have refreshment stations along the way. Always use it to keep yourself hydrated. Mix plain water with isotonic drinks. When decide to walk, walk at a fast pace like in a walkathon. The rest, it's up to your will power.

    And lastly, enjoy your run.

    Nutrition tips for runners.
Before race - Hi complex carbo meals like rice and pasta. If possible, go for low GI, but for me, I don't really watch it cause it's simply to much hasself to measure. Nothing spicy or oily that will upset the stomach. Banana is a good choice due to it's high pottasium content, but watch the fibre content too as it will cause bowel movement. For race day, take solid breakfast at least 2 hours before race. Follow up by a energy bar an hour before race and take it with water. 20 minutes before race, take a carbo electrolyte gel like PowerBar Gel with water.

During race - Keep yourself hydrated at all times, not too much though as it will wash out electolytes. Take energy drinks like PowerBar Endurance. Isotonic drinks contain sugar and although can be taken, it's not recommended. Carbo electrolyte gel like PowerBar Gel is another well known product to be taken during runs. Some runners carry around bananas too. Always take everything with water to ease nutrients absorption.

After race - Hydrate yourself with any liquid you can find. Isotonic works here. PowerBar Recovery contains carbo and also protein to assist energy replacement and also muscle repair. Whey protein do help in the muscle repair. PowerBar Protein Plus does contain whey isolate. Take it with water too. Recommended to be taken within 30 minutes after race.

    Common problems faced by runners
Every runner should know the risk of running and the problems commonly faced. Therefore, I've compiled a few information on them to help everyone here treat it, or better to prevent it.

Runner's knee - Or Chondromalacia Patellae also known as Patello-femoral Pain Syndromeis a degenerative condition of the cartilage surface of the back of the knee cap, or patella. It produces discomfort or dull pain around or behind the patella. It is common in young adults, especially soccer players, cyclists, rowers, tennis players, ballet dancers and runners.

Osteoarthritis - Also known as degenerative arthritis, degenerative joint disease, arthrosis or in more colloquial terms "wear and tear", is a condition in which low-grade inflammation results in pain in the joints, caused by wearing of the cartilage that covers and acts as a cushion inside joints. As the bone surfaces become less well protected by cartilage, the patient experiences pain upon weight bearing, including walking and standing.

Kneecap - Or patella is a thick, triangular bone which articulates with the femur and covers and protects the front of the knee joint. It is the largest sesamoid bone in the human body. It is attached to the tendon of the quadriceps femoris muscle, which contracts to straighten the leg.

Cartilage - A type of dense connective tissue. It is composed of collagenous fibers and/or elastin fibers, and cells called chondrocytes, all of which are embedded in a firm gel-like ground substance called the matrix. Cartilage is avascular (contains no blood vessels) and nutrients are diffused through the matrix. It is one of the major component in the kneecap and is the most common tissue that runners tend to hurt frequently.

Glucosamine - Taken as a supplement, is an amino sugar and a prominent precursor in the biochemical synthesis of glycosylated proteins and lipids. Glucosamine is commonly used as a treatment for osteoarthritis. Since glucosamine is a precursor for glycosaminoglycans, and glycosaminoglycans are a major component of joint cartilage, supplemental glucosamine may help to rebuild cartilage and treat arthritis.
